2013

Happy New Year!

I hope you all will fulfill your dreams and goals and wishes and aspirations and all things of the sort. That includes me, by the way.

Because the past two years have been a complete and utter, disastrous failure. I have attempted, twice, two years in a row, to honorably complete a mission, but both times, I have failed myself.

I feel that I am losing the vigor and the energy to carry out these goals as I had been in 2010. And why, come to think of it, 2010 is quite a while ago! I didn’t notice that I’d been running this blog for so long. Just passed by without letting me know.

Anyhow, blog readers, Internet surfers, bookworms, and my family--

I shall now announce the 2013 goal of the year, which I SHALL NOT--SHAN’T NOT. COULD NOT. WOULD NOT.
OF COURSE NOT.--
Break and shatter and crush to bits and pieces and then write an extensive letter of apology on the last day of the year.

I will try my best to keep my reading career as happy and intense and alive as it was before.

I confess, now that I have a lot more work and things to do, reading has become somewhat of a scarcity. And perhaps it’s my lack of time management skills that I am even more busy and piled up with time consuming, strenuous work.

Now, I have decided that reading a certain amount of books will not by itself be helpful. I need to create a routine that I must follow, so that there is no way that I can break it by the end of the year.

You see, last year’s goal wasn’t something that had a routine. It was just, “read # classic books.” It was possible that I procrastinate and then read # classic books in December, or read half in June and half in July, etc. etc.

But if I had said, “Read 1 classic book every other month,” then it would be inevitable that by February, I was obliged to read a book, otherwise I’d already be breaking the New Rear’s Resolution. (By the way, Rear means Reading Year.)

Therefore…
doodoodoodoodoodoodoodoo…

I have decided…
doodoodoodoodoodoodoo…

That.

This Rear’s Resolution is…

to post every week.

Yes. This is the sort of resolution that requires dedication, devotion, patience, and responsibility.

But this is where I test myself. I must see how lazy I am, how I shall stick to my word, and how this will improve me personally, not just read-ally.

I will probably post on Saturdays, because the weekdays aren’t exactly full of free time, and on Sunday, I go to places and dilly dally and whatnot. Most likely Saturdays, or occasionally Sundays, if the Saturday turns busy.

I will post about what I read and my reflections, or maybe sometimes I will write. But whatever it is, it shall be related to Readcraft and Writery.

LONG LIVE 2013!

Kbye.

New Years Resolution Fail--New Year's Beginning {PENTACLOVEL}

It's a fail. I know. It is. You don't have to tell me. I am already hiding in a dark and dusty corner. Not to mention, it's making me feel terrible. Like I'm a fail in life, and in everything. But in life, you must understand, there are times (years, more like) of failure, and years of prosperity. And I guess 2011 was a year of failure.
Extreme.

But 2012 will be different! Yes! (This is when tears stream down your face and you stand up from your seat and shout out YES!)
Yes, I will do something that will MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Okay.
This time, it's going to be small, because I'm a wimp. Maybe it's not small, actually. But at the point in life I am at (is that grammatically correct?), it's pretty big. Although, to others, it's pretty small.
I will read at least ten CLASSICAL books on my own.
Classic. Like--actual classic.
Not the boring books. But the actual classic--Oliver Twist, Around the World in 80 Days, Sherlock Holmes, Little Women, that kind. Before, in desperate attempts, my mother had bought a whole set of hard-cover classic books. Which made me feel really bad, because both she and I knew that I wouldn't read those books.
Of course, in desperate attempts, even I have tried--I've even gone to the extent of getting through half of the book--but I have never succeeded in finishing a whole classic book in my life.
Wow, isn't that disgustingly strange? I should feel ashamed of myself.
Truly.
Maybe I have, in my mind.
No, probably not.
I don't think Little Princess counts. XD

Or Little Prince.

Anyhow, here I am, a new year, a new beginning, a fresh start. I can't say all mistakes are erased, because they still exist, only in the previous year of 2011.

Speaking of years, Happy New Year!
I forgot to say that. Look at me, mannerless and such. And not having read through a whole classical book.
Hmph.

I really hope I succeed this time.
And I have all the things I need--a brain and eyes and a bunch of classic books in the bookshelves in the study-room sort of thing (actually it's not a room), or next to the piano, or in my room, or in the basement.

And hope.

What shall I name this?
Well, it has to have "classic" or some sort of word like that in there.
Pentaclassicnovellania.
Okay, that's a bit too long. Classicnovellania. Pentaclovellania.
Pentaclovel.
YAY!
It doesn't make sense, but Pentalclovel all the same!
Can you guess?
Penta= five
Cl=classic
ovel=novel
Five Classic Novels!
:D
Oh, the more I think of it, the more brilliant I think the name is! It is absolutely amazing, after last year, having trouble coming up with a proper name and sinking to the level which even Microsoft Word is better than me at.
"Untitled Document 1"
Untitled 2011.
PAH. Well this year, I will change both failure and failure in name!
PENTACLOVEL FOR THE WIN!

*Edit* Well, of course, I realized that five books is WAY too easy, so I have changed the five-book thing to ten books, which might be a bit overwhelming, but I will try all the same. Try, try, try. Wish me luck this year! C:

I'm getting way too excited, aren't I. :3 So happy.
Well, I'm screwed, because I'm so preoccupied with Battle of the Books and this Korean book I have to read for this Korean book contest thingy.
Whatever.
PENTACLOVEL ALL THE SAME, FOR THE WIN!
It sounds like a Narnia sort of land name, maybe a war. A war in Narnia. A noble, wonderful land in Narnia. Or a war in Narnia. I don't know.

Whatever.

The New year of 2011 begins with a rather important resolution.

As A.A.Milne writes in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, "Many happy returns of the day to you."

The New Year of 2011, as the title of this quite important blog post says begins with a rather important resolution.
Perhaps, if you went to last year's 1.1.2010 blog post, I wrote about my first assignment of the year.

Of course, the CoUnTdOwN 4 BoOkS goal that was set for the sole and only year of 2010 (if that makes sense) was to read, at least, 55 books. Of course, it was all calculated when I knew that there were 52 days in a year, and I thought to myself that why not make it just even, round up, just for the sake of it, thinking, it may be a challenge when I read more than one book a week, just 3 books worth, because i'll have a goal that much higher and that much better.
And so here we are, in the new and fresh year of 2011, new resolutions to follow, new rules to make, a fresh start to continue making your new self as you do every year. That means, another goal for this very blog to follow. Yes, indeed, this blog you are reading, unfortunately, must let go of the former goal of CoUnTdOwN 4 BoOkS.

Of course, I might as well continue my CoUnTdOwN 4 BoOkS goal, but then it would be boring, and tiring, and dragging along in my head as some another assignment I dread to do. After all, you can get just a bit sick of things after a while, in this case, a year.

And, I remembered,
Happy Birthday to this Blog.

And, as to continue my wonderful (ahem ahem) speech...
where was I?
Oh, yes. So, you can get a bit Sick of Things, after a year or so.
And so, I've come to a very important decision.
This is the year, of Writing.
Well, Of course, I do write on my own, even without a goal to myself...
But I've set a goal in which I am making right now in this very brain that I have right in my head.
Yes.
Now, where was I...

Yes. This goal, being made up this moment (well, maybe not to you, since you might be reading this a while after I post it), but I have come to a very important decision, as I have declared earlier, that this is a Writing Year.
Of writing.

I shall try to:
Write one chapter book (e.g.  The Twenty Dollar Lie)
AND
Write another 12 Rather Short Stories.

This may be an easy goal, of course, so I may modify it as the year passes, so you might want to bookmark this page in case it seems to change as the year passes.

It may change from "Write another 12 Rather Short Stories" to "Write another 12 stories" to "Write another 12 Chapter Books," but that may be a bit too tiring, since a professional author may write one chapter book within a year or two.

Or, It may go the Opposite, as quite the contrary.
I might write "Write one chapter book (e.g. The Twenty Dollar Lie)" instead of the usual, "
Write one chapter book (e.g.  The Twenty Dollar Lie)
AND
Write another 12 Rather Short Stories."

But who knows, since the future is always a mystery.
As the saying goes,
"Yesterday is History. Tomorrow is a Mystery. Today is a Gift. That is why it is called Present." --Anonymous

Yes.

So, if you have not still understood what this rather confusing sort of blog entry was trying to clarify,
this year (2011)'s goal is to:

Write one chapter book (e.g.  The Twenty Dollar Lie)
AND
Write another 12 Rather Short Stories.

Yes, indeed.
A rather good goal, since last year (technically yesterday)'s goal was to read at least 55 books, so this year is to write at least 13 pieces of literature, whether prized or not. Of course, I can't say to write 55 pieces of literature because that would be an awful pain in the neck, especially to one who spends many hours on writing one story.
coughmecough.

Yes, and the reason it has to be 12 stories, is because I must need time, wherefore since I am in the dreaded level of Middle School (as though not as dreaded as this High School they speak of, oh, and College). The reason is, because i need time, so there are 12 months in a year, so therefore must be 12 pieces of writing, one per month. (:

Now that I think of it, this goal must have a title, as to be easily identified when being written of in this very blog. Since last year's was CoUnTdOwN 4 BoOkS, this year's must be something spectacular. It can't have "Countdown" in it, since I've already used that one, nor can it have a number "4" in it, either, since I have also used it, OR "books," which will be a hard one. But now that I think of it, this year's goal doesn't have as much to do with books as last year, so it might not be as important to include it in this year goal's title. How about 2011 Fresh Writing? No. Too... not good. Just doesn't sound right.
How about... hm... hmmmm. tink tink tink... must...think...

Let me think. Yes, thank you.
Should it have writing in it? No. since last year's didn't have "reading" in it, this year's shouldn't have "writing" as well...
Since Reading:Books as Writing:Literature (I guess), shouldn't we have some sort of word relating to the term "literature" in it? No, sounds too teachery and schooly, if you know what I mean. We must get as far away from that as possible, in case some reader may mistake this blog as some sort of teachers blog, in which this is very not.
Hmmmm, so "literature" is out of the question.
Maybe... Oh! Literature Log.
I've gone to www.thesaurus.com to look for some synonyms of notebook, in case I may kind of synonimize "Writer's Notebook," if you know what I mean...
But that has "literature" in it. But... I like the alliteration... must consider.
I shall add it to my Considered list.

Ooooh! I found a word called wordsmith and I think its rather wordy and witty. Wordsmith! Now, that's one witty word. (: Let me look up the meaning...  Ok. Author.
Wordsmith Wordbook?
Wordsmith's Wordbook?
Wordsmith Wordbook Wish? I like that one, but it's a bit lengthy...

Let me abandon the whole wordsmith idea for this moment.

oh, look. I give up.
Well, of course not, if you really don't want me too.
Why, thank you.
Of course, of course..
but...
well, what I meant is...
well I'll aim to try.
But I can't come up with one!
Why, that's a good idea.
Yes...
Uhhuh...
Yep. Wonderful! Splendid.
Okay, thank you.
Yes, I must be going, too.
Yes, bye.
Bye.

Well, why don't you come up with one? Yes, you.
Well who else is reading this?
The person next to you, you say?
Oh.

Well then both of you come up with something, and please EMAIL it to me at celinerulez@gmail.com or countdown4books@gmail.com but I'd suggest celinerulez@gmail.com because I really think that's better.
Because.
Why? I don't have to tell you if I don't want to.
Yeah.
Okay. Good.
Anyhow, so I've modified the above Long Paragraph to
Well then both of you come up with something, and please EMAIL it to me at celinerulez@gmail.com because I really think that's better.

What? Well first of all if you don't have a computer you wouldn't be reading this anyway?
Well it's obvious, isn't it? How would I not know?
Yes, of course. If you don't have a computer, then you wouldn't know this webpage existed, then you wouldn't even be wondering how to email me altogether!
Yes, a very smart conclusion.
Why, thank you.

Oh, you're there, aren't you? I forgot you were there. I'm sorry.
Anyhow, I must be bugging you much, since you're squirming in your seat waiting for this page to end. So here goes...

So, may I wish you a merry New Year, as the new and fresh year of 2011 begins and unravels its mysteries in which we have not unveiled will come to occur at an alarmingly surprising rate.

Let me tell you, time flies if you think of the past and time slows if you think of the future. Just think of tomorrow if you want time to slow and think of yesterday and how the week has passed if you want to make time feel fast.
And before you know it, another minute has passed as you are confusedly thinking of this ponderous sentence/paragraph I have typed. (: Glad to confuzzle you.

Yes, as I wrote a few thirty minutes ago, Happy New Year!

Many happy returns to you,
Celine, Administrator of Love, Read, Write!

P.S. Any modifications of 2011 goal is shown as edited here, in the following text:
None, so far.

P.P.S. I haven't come up with a title yet so this post doesn't have a label yet so you better come up with a title fast!

Day one: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Happy New Year!
And happy first-day-of-reading-project!
How time flies so quickly...
I have started reading my book. Actually, a few days ago, but I will count this book as one of the 55 books I will read.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am warning you, if you don't want the story to be spoiled by me and my writing (actually text), then you better read the book as you read this blog. I will write a quick summary of so far, and I will also write observations and whatnot... It will also tell you what chapters I read, because the entries will be on those chapters.

Inkheart by Cornelia Funke.

It is probably a fantasy book, because so far, evil people, people who can eat fire, as well as otherworld creatures are jumping out of books in the story.
I noticed that all, no, most fantasy books are long. Lord of the Rings, Hobbit, Harry Potter, and now, Inkheart. They are long because, I'm guessing, the author has so much to tell in their book. Writing is almost like making your own world. It comes out of your mind, out of your head. You can make the bad guy how you like, or you can make a happy ending. No one can stop you from making your own world on paper. That is one reason I like writing and reading books. Not that I'm a professional author, no. I just write my own little stories which turn out the way I want them to.
== == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == == ==
Inkheart- Chapters 1 ~ 16

This won't be some fantastic summary that will go on for millions of pages, but a simple summary. Since, whoever you are, you are reading Inkheart, up to chapter 16, I don't really need to introduce the characters very well. There is Meggie, Mo, Dustfinger, Elinor, Capricorn, Basta, and, of course, many others.
I am wondering how the story is going to end, and I have just barely a blurry image of the actual problem in the story. I know, though. I know a little bit how it is going to end, because the book told me. That wouldn't make sense. On the back cover of the book, the summary told me that... Should I tell you? Oh, I might as well spill the beans. If you don't want to know, then skip the rest of this paragraph. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ... ... ... ... .... ..... ...... .......  .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..It said that she had to rewrite        the story. I am guessing the second story would be called Inkspell (it's just a prediction), which is also the next book to this book, the sequel. My prediction is that Meggie has to rewrite the story and make a bad ending for Capricorn and his subjects, and Mo would read the story aloud to Capricorn, which makes the same thing in the book happen to him.
So far, this story is very exciting! One thing for sure, I feel bad for Dustfinger. He must be so desperate to go back into his world, or rather, book, since he followed Capricorn's order. Not that he wouldn't, because everyone can easily fear people like Capricorn.
Another thing for sure, I hate Capricorn. No, maybe hate is a too much of a strong word. I greatly too much despise and loathe Capricorn. I do not like people who are mean and demanding and EVIL. But Capricorn plays an important part of the story, so he is conspicuous, not the easily seen conspicuous, the prominent conspicuous, if you go by definitions.
Not much to say, besides what I just typed. ^.^
So far, this book is a 10 out of 10!

An assignment

I have decided that this is a blog, and well, obviously, you know that. A blog needs a purpose, so I am gonna make my own assignment. I started a blog, and I obviously have to end it one way or another.

My assignment is about books. Since there are about two days left until 2010, I am going to have something that will last for a year.
My assignment is that I will read some amount of books in one year, 365 days.
I am still not sure how many books, though. I like reading, but I really don't have much time, due to my schedule. If I calculate that I read one book every week, then it would be 52 books. To what I know, I know there are about 52 weeks in a year.

Here is my assignment:

Reading countdown

55 books in 365 days. Each week, I will record what I read and how I like it so far.

This is just so you know, but I am in sixth grade, so I will not be reading Junie B. Jones (which I LOVED and still do...), or I will not be reading some extremely hard book for adults. I will be reading books my level.

I hope I will achieve my goal!
